Dalloul Art Foundation by Lea Liban

I will never forget the day I first visited the Dalloul Art Foundation Beirut collection, in a tour organized by Beirut Art Fair , back in September 2016. I was going through dark times of anxiety and depression, and discovering this outstanding collection gave me such an uplifting boost! It was enriching to listen to Basel Dalloul explain to us details and stories of each artwork of the humongous collection of his parents Saeda and Ramzi Dalloul. I took these 2 pictures that day in front of Samia Halaby 's wonderful art. Basel was sharing with us everything with such generosity! I had never seen art lovers with so much passion before. It was so inspiring, I felt as if I was floating. This was definetly my kind of heaven 🥰 For weeks I only talked about this magnificent collection to everyone I met and... I finally started painting again! I visited the collection every year with the VIP tour of the Beirut Art Fair, until last year because I was busy exhibiting myself for the first time in Beirut in 2 different locations during Beirut Art Week! Next month, I will be relocating to Norway. But pieces of my heart and art will always remain in Lebanon 🇱🇧 ❤️ I am truly honored to have my art among this magnificent collection of contemporary arab art ❤️ DAF Beirut thank you so much for adopting my artworks ❤️

Art Connects Women 2020 by Lea Liban

I was selected to represent Norway at the International Women artists exhibition in Dubai for the international day of women’s right. This exhibition, organized and curated by Zaheerah Muthy (Zee Arts Gallery), presented 100 women artists from 100 different countries under the theme of all for equal.

Connecting with other women artists from around the world was a marvelous and memorable experience.

I chose to present my artwork “miscommunication” for that occasion as it reflects exactly how women and men communicate and how equality is challenging to reach.

Zee Arts set us up a great program including an opening reception of our exhibition at the One and Only Royal Mirage, a conference on equality at the Dubai Opera, a movie by Yann Arthus Bertrand at Alliance Française, a safari in the dunes, a fashion show, a photo shoot and an award night closing ceremony.

A book about all the women artists was also published for the occasion and I am honored to be featured in it.
